Walk and Talk Therapy
Why Walk and Talk?
Physical movement, natural environments and psychotherapy are all great for your mental and physical health. This approach allows us to save time and gain the benefits of all three at once.

Exposure to beautiful natural settings, sunshine and free air all carry opportunities for health and mood improvements and helps the nervous system unwind. Additionally, natural light and exercise both have a positive impact on sleep cycle regulation, reducing cortisol and increasing serotonin.

Some people find walking side-by-side less overwhelming and more comfortable than face-to-face therapy in an office. The relaxed environment can help facilitate psychological processing, especially for those who become blocked and withdrawn in traditionally therapy. The experience also promotes relaxation and provides excellent opportunities for mindfulness.

We will walk at a pace that suits you, wearing discrete, everyday clothing, in a quiet location. We will also discuss how to respond if you spot anyone you know.

In extreme weather (rain, wind, hot, cold) home visits and telehealth will be offered as alternatives.

Walk and Talk therapy will still provide psychological interventions, just in a relaxed natural setting.
