Session Fees
With GP or Psychiatrist Referral
$185 - $200
If you have a mental health treatment plan for your condition prepared for you by your GP or Psychiatrist, you will be eligible for a Medicare rebate of about $89.65 for between 6-20 sessions within a calendar year. Session cost is higher for couples counselling and eating disorder treatment due to the complexity involved. Extra charges apply for in-home therapy. A higher rebate rate of $110.80 applies in some instances.
Concession Rate
Individuals and families with lower incomes who cannot afford the full fees may apply for a reduced concession rate. Contact Esther and she will explain what concession rate you are eligible for.
Eating Disorders Treatment
$200
Eating Disorders require highly specialised treatment and full collaboration between members of a clients treatment team. The higher fee for this service reflects the additional work you can expect from your psychologist when treating you for an eating disorder.
Cancellation
24-48 Hours
Any cancellation made within 24 hours will incur full session fee. Cancellation within 48 hours will incur a 50% session fee. These fees cannot be claimed through Medicare or private health cover. This cancellation fee reflects the fact that a scheduled appointment time is reserved for you and results in lost time and income if cancelled at short notice.
Medicare Rebates
$93.35-117.25 Rebate
If your GP or Psychiatrist specifies on your referral that you would benefit from Walk & Talk or In-Home treatment then a higher Medicare rebate of $117.25 per session can be applied reducing your gap fee costs. This only applies for clients who would specifically benefit from therapy outside of a consulting room.
Private Health Insurance
Covering Session Fees
Clients with Private Health Insurance should check if Mental Health Treatments are included in their extras cover. If you have this extra cover you can claim back the cost of our service using your private health insurance.
NDIS
$214.41 Fee set by NDIS no gap-payment
Clients with self-managed National Disability Insurance Scheme's have the freedom to choose their own support providers including mental health treatment providers. If you are self-managed you can elect to use your funding to pay for our services. You can pay for non-face-to-face provisions, psychologist travel and short notice cancellations using your funding.
Travel Fee's
In-Home Therapy
In-home therapy incurs additional travel time for your psychologist and is charged at a rate of $85 per hour of travel. Travel time is based on the return trip time from Unanderra, NSW, 2526. For example, a 20 minute return trip to Wollongong would incur a $28.33 travel fee. You can use Google Maps to generate estimated travel times.
